Mahatma Gandhi
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, more commonly known as ‘Mahatma’ (meaning ‘Great Soul’) was born in Porbandar, Gujarat, in North West India, on 2nd October 1869, into a Hindu Modh family. There is an astonishing variety of dazzling souvenirs from India: handicrafts, textiles, jewelry, furnishings, art, spices and much more on display in winding bazaars, busy markets, state emporiums and street stalls; at ancient historical sites and shining new malls. The country produces both traditional and modern goods, and sometimes a compelling mix of both — such as designer fashions inspired by traditional costumes. The entire country is an Indian shop!

The effervescence of India surpasses the simple combination of the beauty of its landscape and the intricacy of its ancient architecture. The complexity of the country means that it is indelibly spiritual at one moment, then architecturally glorious, then astonishingly natural, then culturally fascinating. Mystical and spiritual, India is a land of rich contrasts. Its cultural tapestry unveils a country with many faces, each unraveling a feast of fresh experiences, infused with a kaleidoscopic blend of enchantment and sensual indulgence. As we travel through the classic Golden Triangle which encompasses every aspect of India, we’ll exceprience the real India, full of color, mystical, profound and mesmerizing.

Indian Cuisine

Indian Cuisine
With all its exotic ingredients, unfamiliar dishes, and tongue-tingling flavors, Indian cuisine can be both exciting and intimidating. “It’s such a complete world of taste. You combine all the techniques from other cuisines and add magical spices to get a titillating food experience,” says Madhur Jaffrey, an actress and the author of At Home With Madhur Jaffrey. “Indian cuisine uses the whole palette of flavors—spicy, sour, sweet, and hot all at the same time—making it something that wants to jump off the plate,” says Floyd Cardoz...
